iFIT onboarding Account Health Emails

Brief

We face a challenge when onboarding new subscribers, how to encourage them to set up an account, log into the app, and start a workout. We proposed a journey and corresponding emails to meet those needs in addition to proposing “Account Health” emails to solve this initial problem.

Brainstorming

Starting with journey mapping in Figjam, we went through multiple rounds identifying what a new subscriber’s onboarding email journey should be, what was needed from the current journey, and how to achieve company KPI’s through these email communications. We identified the need for communications addressing making an account, creating a password, and starting a workout in the iFIT app.

Next came the creation of emails that we dubbed “Account Health”. In addition to emails showing the account’s status, we decided to create how-to videos to guide users to complete our subscriber milestones of creating a password, downloading the app, and starting a workout in the iFIT app. We started with storyboarding the video going through the iFIT app’s onboarding.

Next, we created the emails to show where in our initial onboarding journey a subscriber was. By linking our how-to videos in the email, we were able to set up new subscribers to successfully complete our onboarding steps.
